Hello Titmouse!
My name is Kat and I’m a 2D animation freelancer based in Vancouver, BC. I recently saw your job posting for a Set Up Artist! I am proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, with an emphasis on Flash/Animate, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition, and Premiere. Since my graduation from Emily Carr University in 2018, I’ve been working on independent grant-funded projects, and recently finished an internship with Temple Carrington & Brown. My goal has always been to work at Titmouse, I love how your work varies in style and has a flair of life to it.

During my recent internship, I was guided by Art Director Tom C J Brown, where I spent six weeks drawing rough layouts for an animatic, and later pieced it together with all it’s components. I am well versed with compositing, drawing layouts, and working with audio, all while keeping pace to a fast changing environment.
Above I have added some recent storyboards of mine from a music video WIP and a SSHRCC funded project. Before starting an animation, I always storyboard first, and have readable roughs before moving to clean up. I use boards in my freelance work to communicate effectively with the client, and do revisions to ensure everyone is happy.
I am often playful with colour, but start my illustrations with greyscale first to get a sense of the light value. I know how make use of layers and masks to ensure every component is editable in case of revision.
